A mastopexy is a breast lift that raises the breast by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to create a more youthful breast contour.
This is different to a breast augmentation that make your breast bigger. However, both procedures can be done combined as they are not mutually exclusive. It is recommended that you bring photos showing the size and shape of the breasts you'd like.
This procedure takes about 3 hours and usually is done under general anesthesia. Complications after breast lifts are relatively rare. You will have to avoid heavy lifting for at least 4 to 6 weeks after your breast lift. However, most women are back at work after breast lift surgery anywhere from 2 days to 14 days after their procedure.
