Mammoplasty

Mammoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to increase the size, shape, or fullness of the breast. Some women have a large and heavy breast, so in this case our surgeons can also apply a breast reduction surgery.
The surgeon places silicone, saline, or alternative composite breast implants under the chest muscles or breast tissue. Implants last from 7 to 12 years on average.
Mammoplasty is done to:
  • Enlarge breasts that are naturally small
  • Reduce breast that are too large and heavy
  • Restore breast size and shape after pregnancy, weight loss or breastfeeding
  • Restore symmetry when the breasts are asymmetrical
  • Restore the breast or breasts after surgery
A study by researchers from the University of Florida found that breast enlargement through cosmetic surgery boosts women’s self-esteem and their feelings about their sexuality.
A breast implant is a medical prosthesis that is placed inside the breast to augment, reconstruct, or create the physical form of the breast.
Like any operation, breast augmentation surgery involves anesthesia, incisions and a recovery period afterward. However, the process is often quicker and more comfortable than patients expect. Most breast augmentation surgeries can be performed on an outpatient basis, which means the patient does will not have any overnights in the hospital after the procedure. Recovery time is usually three days before a patient is ready to return to most regular activities including work.
