Brow Lift

A brow lift or forehead lift is performed to correct to the age related effects of the eyebrows and upper eyelids.
A plethora of brow lift and forehead lift techniques are available. Choosing the right technique does not only depend on the degree of the eyebrow sagginess and upper eyelid fullness, but also on your hairline, and skin tightness.
The brow lift methods differ regarding incision length and location, and sometimes the use of an endoscope. A youthful appearing eyebrow rests at, or slightly above, the supraorbital rim. Woman and men prefer different eyebrow aesthetics regarding shape and position. Male eyebrows have a straighter shape compared to women, where a laterally arched eyebrow is often preferred.
But more important than “standardized“ beauty guidelines, are that a patient’s familiar eyebrow shape, will be maintained, or if desired slightly altered. Most patients are not seeking an alteration of their type, just as men are not seeking feminization of their eyelid region. The eyelid region which includes the eyebrows is crucial for the emotional perception by others.
In some patients the incisions of a brow lift can be placed in a way that the brow lift also reduces the receding hairline. A brow lift is often combined with other facial procedures, like an upper blepharoplasty or a facelift.
